Our Head of Awards (Olivia Chappell) has been working with an outstanding jury of industry professionals this year to help pick our winners. Let’s meet them below:
James Webber – Writer / Director / Producer

James Webber has worked professionally as a filmmaker for over 10 years, making numerous music videos, promos, and commercials. He has also written and directed several award-winning shorts.
His first major short, the highly acclaimed Driftwood, has won over 25 awards at international festivals; including a prestigious ‘Coup de Coeur’ at Cannes and was long-listed for both a BAFTA and a BIFA for ‘Best Short Film’. The film was picked up for distribution by Shorts International and, in the summer of 2014, it was broadcast on Channel 4. James’ follow up to Driftwood was drama short Soror, which hosted an impressive ensemble cast including double BAFTA winner Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, The Witch).
Other credits include directing horror short The Prey, which was sold to Crypt TV in the US. So far the film has gained over two million views online and includes famed genre filmmaker Eli Roth (Hostel) as one of its fans. For director Axelle Carolyn (The Haunting of Bly Manor), James also produced The Halloween Kid, alongside Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones) which premiered at Frightfest in 2012.
James’ commercial clients include Film4, Disney, Google, Amnesty International, Media Trust, MasterCard, Clogau Gold, Spectra, Academy and Sony.
James recently completed his debut feature film Sorority, which is due for release in 2021.
In 2014 Webber co-founded The Springhead Film Company.

Monika Radwanska – Editor

Monika Radwanska is a London based editor. Originally from Poland, she moved to the UK to study a master’s degree in Post Production Editing at Bournemouth University. After receiving her degree with honours, she took a position at the BBC, in their Branded Services Creative team.
In 2015, she left the BBC and joined the editorial team on the critically acclaimed and award winning feature film Lady Macbeth. From there, she established herself as an assistant editor while primarily working on studio films such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Angel Has Fallen, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! and The Commuter.
Throughout her career Monika has edited numerous short films and branded content. In 2013, her commercial spot promoting the European Night of Museums in Poland was broadcast on TVP (Polish Television). One of her recent projects, the short film Sid, won the award for Best Editing at the Global Shorts film festival in Los Angeles. Monika has been a member of BAFTA Crew since 2018.

Lorenzo Levrini – Cinematographer

Lorenzo is a Director of Photography based in London, UK.
He currently has feature film Sorority in festivals, starring Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, Red Road, The Witch, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and Sophie Kennedy Clark (Philomena, Nymphomaniac, The Danish Girl).
He recently shot the drama portions of BAFTA-winning Gun No. 6, as well as feature film Redcon-1 starring Carlos Gallardo (El Mariachi).
Born in Rome, he was obsessed with cameras and making his own short films by the time he was 10. After wanting to be a photojournalist for a few years, he discovered cinematography and has been working in the industry for ten years.

Lucy Mitchell – Sound Engineer and owner of JL Studios

Lucy has worked in the post production industry for over 10 years and has a vast amount experience and skills spanning many areas of post production for TV, Film, Animation and Computer Games. Lucy is a writer for renowned audio industry website Pro Tools Expert, has both chaired and been part of panel discussions at BVE and The Media Production Show, and is a guest lecturer and workshop leader at multiple Universities and 6th Form Colleges. She started her career at Envy Post Production as a runner, learnt on the job and worked her way up the ladder old-school style; moving through the machine room as an audio assistant, head of machine room, track layer, voice over recordist and junior mixer. She went freelance in 2015 and has spread her wings venturing into different genres for a multitude of clients both in the UK and overseas. Her credits include Eastenders, Death in Paradise, Top Gear, David Attenborough’s Rise of the Vertebrates and Derry Girls amongst many others. She has a purpose built fully sound-proofed studio in her garden from which she runs her company LJ Studios – a full service audio post production facility offering everything you need for your projects in one place herself and her various freelancers. This includes voice over and ADR recording, dialogue and effects editing, music composition and arranging, foley recording, sound design and final mixing.
